There’s sunshine outside

garden seat

Sunshine says to sit

To take some time

Feel the warmth

Note the sparkle

While lists sit on the bench

Weeds laugh in the garden

Clothes spill out of baskets

Breezes wave the leaves

Move the shadows

Nod the blooms

Stir the greenery

While dishes pile the kitchen

Mould grows in the fridge

Piles demand a sorting

My heart says ‘Pause’

My soul says ‘Praise’

My Lord says ‘Wait

And know I’m here.’

  1. Oh yes by all means pause, and expect the refreshment of His touch or whisper. Thereafter the work flows, the ideas come, the efficiencies surprise. I guess we are really talking about a Sabbath rest, although it may come on a Tuesday at 3 PM…Doug
